Weekly Yoga Classes - All Levels

Have you ever wanted to give Yoga a try but didn’t know where to go?  Or maybe you practice regularly and are looking for something different and an opportunity to practice with other people. These classes are for you.

Every Wednesday - Men's Beginners Yoga

Every Thursday - General Yoga class

In these classes you will learn the foundational Asana (postures) of Yoga, Vinyasa (dynamic linking of postures), Pranayama (conscious breathing), and Meditation (mindfulness practices). 

Classes can be booked individually, however we encourage you to commit to coming along for a course of 6 classes so that you can gain more benefit from the practice and gain the confidence to practice on your own at home.

We are an 8 minute drive from Waipu centre, at 239 Massey Road.

$15 for a one-off class. $80 for 6 classes if paid in advance.

About Rachel

My yoga journey spans 40 years, when I first discovered and started practicing Yoga at school. My experience starts with a deep grounding in the Iyengar system and more recently in Knoff Yoga, with complimentary practice in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Yin Yoga and Scaravelli-inspired.

Since 2001, I have completed over 600 hours of teacher training in Yoga, Meditation and Pranayama, achieved the Yoga Alliance 200 RYT, Knoff Yoga Foundation Certificate, Anatomy and Physiology diploma (Otago Uni) and teaching certificates in Yin Yoga and Aerial Yoga.

I believe that Yoga is for everyone and my aim as a teacher is make it accessible, fun, safe and above all, beneficial for every student regardless of their starting place.

The Iyengar approach has given me a deep understanding of the principles of alignment and this strong, intelligent and focused style of Yoga continues to influence my teaching today.

I am hugely indebted to the many talented teachers that I have been fortunate to study with and my purpose as a teacher is to pass on their knowledge and channel their unique gifts to the best of my ability.

Other useful info

Please arrive 10 minutes early to enable you to settle in so that we can start the class on time.

Wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict your movement.

Our studio is fully equipped with everything you need, mats, bolsters, blocks and straps. However you are welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer

It’s best not to eat a full meal at least 2 hours before class. A snack is fine, but try to leave at least 45 minutes from when you have eaten to when the class starts
